A tour across one of the most beautiful areas of the department of Antioquia, visiting different municipalities, with a variety of routes to do altitude training and with an ideal climate for cycling.

We will visit beautiful landscapes in the Guatapé reservoir or the Arví Park and mythical mountains such as Alto de El Escobero or Las Palmas in this tour that consists of 4 days and 3 nights of hotel, rolling for around 400 km in 3 stages.

Come and get to know first hand one of the best areas to experience the Colombian cycling culture and have a great experience on the bike.

Activity details

DAY 1: ARRIVAL JOSÉ MARÍA CORDOVA AIRPORT

Arrival to the city of Rionegro and then van transfer to the town of Cauca Viejo in southwest Antioquia.

DAY 2: COFFEE AND SUGAR CANE

(S1 CAUCA VIEJO - JARDÍN - CAUCA VIEJO: 144 km - 2.077 m +)

Ride to the remote village of Jardín, traditional for its picturesque central park and the facades of its houses. Perfect layout to start our tour, with a route not very complicated but with constant inclination and some heat. Enjoy the best landscapes of southwest Antioquia and know first-hand the large coffee and cane plantations that this beautiful town has.

DAY 3: PROCESSION TO THE MOUNTAINS

(S2 CAUCA VIEJO - JERICÓ - EL CALVARIO - CAUCA VIEJO: 96 km - 2.862 m +)

Queen stage of the tour to get your legs shaking with two 1st category hard climbs. Visit to the town of Jericó with its long uphill route known as Alto de El Salvador and then return by the same route to look for the long hill of El Calvario. The hardness of the stage is rewarded by the incredible landscapes that are enjoyed in the area

DAY 4: THE ANTIOQUIA VIEWPOINT

(S3 CAUCA VIEJO - CARAMANTA - CAUCA VIEJO: 121 km - 2.257 m +)

In the last stage of the tour we visit Caramanta, a town hidden in the mountain, which we climb on a very quiet but quite hard road. This municipality is known for its landscapes and for being a balcony over the region thanks to its altitude. After having lunch in the village, we return by the same route to our hotel to end The Classic Antioquia tour.
